When I think of Radio Flyer, the first thing that comes to mind is the “little red wagon.” I asked around and took a poll and sure enough – that’s the first thing that pops into people’s head. They are not only known for how cute the red wagon is but for how long those wagons can last. Radio Flyer puts quality work into their wagons so they are well-known as being quality and the #1 asked for wagon.
Did you know though that Radio Flyer makes far more than “the little red wagon”? This Spring we had the opportunity to review to of their newest products:
Scoot to Skate
Great for ages 3 – 8
Is both a skateboard and a scooter! Take the handle off and it becomes a skateboard!
Smooth Rider
Ages 6 and up
Folds for easy storage and comes put together already!
Gracie and Dylan loved the opportunity to try these great products. Gracie wanted so badly to be like daddy when she saw him get on the Radio Flyer Smooth Rider.
She is still learning how to use the scooter so she is definitely not ready for the skateboard part but that sure didn’t hinder her from having a good time. If she couldn’t get her body and legs to work right, she was going to sit on it and make it go.
To go from scooter to skateboard does require that you as a parent use a screwdriver to take off the handle. This is slightly tedious so it isn’t something you go back and forth in one day but the concept is great. I love how sturdy the whole thing and is definitely well made.
As Gracie get older, I can definitely see that this scooter is going to be one of her favorite things to play with.
Now I absolutely adore the Radio Flyer Smooth Rider. I know you may be thinking it is a child’s toy but both my husband and I have used it. Not only is it great to play with Gracie but it is actually fun for just getting around. The dog also thinks it is great to chase so we are able to exercise him at the same time.
The brake on the scooter is like many and placed right inside the handle. The handle is very sturdy and the perfect size for a child or small adult. I do not know what the scooter would be like to ride as a tall adult.
The handle is easily adjustable so that you can go from a small child to an adult quite quickly. (My husband will actually show you how easy this is in the video at the end of this review.)
The scooter also easily folds up for small storage places.
Once folded the scooter, is easily carried by any person that is using this. This would be great for the times when your child takes it to sporting events, or school because they can easily carry wherever they need it to be.
As a parent, I am thrilled with the Smooth Rider and the quality and build of this great toy. Below you can see a video of both Gracie and my husband playing with their Radio Flyer scooters. As you will see in the video, Gracie wants to go everywhere daddy goes so I’m sure she will learn to ride hers really well soon.
You find out where to purchase the Radio Flyer Scoot 2 Skate or the Smooth Rider at Radio Flyer’s website.
Right now, if you fan Radio Flyer on Facebook, they are giving away one of the great Smooth Riders away to a Facebook fan!
