As family descends on our homes this holiday season, more than likely we will pull out the pictures, home videos, and even play music to entertain our guests. What if you could do it all from your TV without photo albums, stacks of DVDs and CDs all over the room?

With the Nixeus Fusion HD Media Player, you can do that more. We recently had the opportunity to test this great little media player out and I was shocked with all it could do.

The Fusion HD media player is a simple black box. It is unassuming and not very flashy but the things it can do makes up for its size and plainness. I actually love that it is simple and not small because it fits easily in with our DVD player and our VHS player (yes – don’t gasp too much but we still have one of those.)

You can connect the Nixeus Fusion HD media player up to your Internet either wirelessly or through an Ethernet cable. My husband found it easy to set up while it was slightly too complicated for me. When it comes to setting electronics up, I seem to have two left thumbs so this doesn’t mean anything.

As a normal parent and user of the Fusion HD, I’m not going to share every spec about the Fusion HD. I love the Fusion HD for the fact that I can connect it to my network and watch all of the videos that I have recorded of Gracie’s violin playing and the other fun stuff that happens in our home. Gracie loves watching herself and would rather watch home movies than Mickey Mouse so the Fusion HD has come invaluable in this aspect.
You can install an internal hard drive into the Fusion HD up to 2 TB (my favorite brand of hard drives being Seagate) and store your videos, music, and movies on the player. Since my Flip video camera records in HD quality, we can now watch our home videos in HD which is pretty wonderful because they are so clear.
I take a ton of pictures so whenever I am showing them to family we are huddled around my laptop. Now everyone can sit on the couch and watch them on the TV in full screen. I absolutely love this option and allows my daughter to look at pictures anytime she wants.
While I only used the YouTube option once, I do love that you can access internet content such as YouTube, Fusion Channel, RSS, Flickr, Live 365, and SHOUTcast through Nixeus Fusion HD Media player. I found browsing the internet a little more difficult but it was till nice for YouTube.
I would love to see Netflix added to the Nixeus Fusion HD as we probably use it even more then. I would also love to see the Nixeus Fusion HD eventually be able to flash content played on the media player.
Even without those things, the Nixeus Fusion HD Media Player is a wonderful gift for the family that takes a lot of home videos, pictures, enjoys music, and even likes watching Internet content. With the ability to play everything in HD quality, this makes the picture quality great and a fun addition to your home entertainment.
The current price of the Nixeus Fusion HD Media Player is $199. While this price may seem a little higher than other media players this one comes with a 2 year warranty which many of the others do not. What a great gift this would be under the tree this year or in time for Thanksgiving as the holidays commence and you begin to bring out those myriad of pictures and videos to show your mother-in-law.
