As a former teacher and now a mom, education is important to me. I would love for my daughter to be reading as soon as possible and I know that she has the ability and even the desire to do so. I have watched her little fingers learn to play the violin and learn the motor skills needed to hold the bow so I know that she can learn to hold a pencil and begin to write.
Teach My Preschooler arrived not long ago and I was very intrigued and excited about starting this new activity with my daughter. She is loves to learn so I was curious what Teach My Preschooler would do for her.

The Teach My Preschooler kit comes in a great hard case which holds everything you need to start teaching your child the basics of reading, writing, and math.

I also love how the box holds everything in a file system. Each file is a plastic bag with a velcro closure which stores that particular area’s learning tools. There is “Ready To Read”, “Ready To Print”, “Ready For 1 – 100″, and “Ready For Math”.

I absolutely adore the manipulatives used in these kits. It was much more than I expected but I am thrilled with the high quality and easy to use pieces for small hands.

As a parent, I was thrilled with how colorful yet organized everything is. There are clear instructions on how to begin and how long to go each day. Christy Cook recommends only teaching your preschooler for 20 minutes a day and only one activity a day. These great learning toys should only be used with you beside them so that you can guide their every step.

Gracie is thrilled with the Teach My Preschooler kit. She has always been one to learn quickly and get bored easily if her brain is not tapped. Her favorite activity is the “Ready To Print”. She loves the magnetic board that she gets to use each day (what child wouldn’t) and it is a challenge to get her to quit after 20 minutes.

She lays the sheet over the board and traces the lines. We haven’t gone past straight lines and slanted lines yet but she is happy with that.

After she is done, we take off the sheet to see how she has done. She said to me today – “Mommy, I am so proud of you for letting me do this.”
I am thrilled that she is learning and loving it. She is not 3 yet so I did find that for some things this kit is advanced for her and I plan to purchase the Teach My Toddler kit because she seems to be missing some vital areas that she needs before she fully grasps the Teach My Preschooler stuff. Since I have Gabriel also who just turned 1, I would be able to teach both of them at the same time. I also have a 3rd little one 3 times a week who is just turned 2 so she also would benefit from the Teach My Toddler kit.
As a parent and a former Kindergarten teacher, I love this great. I have seen children come into Kindergarten with their motor skills still needing lots of work – wouldn’t it be great to give them that jumpstart to school. Learning can be fun and with Christy Cook’s Teach My kits – she has ensured that each parent not only as the equipment to make it fun but the resources to full put those kits to work.
Any one of these kits would be great gift for parents or the little one that is eager to learn. You can purchase Teach My Preschooler, Teach My Baby, and Teach My Toddler for $49.99 here. This a great deal for entire curriculum worth of materials!
