Wordless Wednesday – Mommy Failure

Being on bed rest means I have had to get creative with how I do things with my kids and often times I am not left alone with them.   Yesterday, in my goals for this week I had posted that I was going to do Valentines Day activities with the kids even while on bed rest.  This afternoon, I talked my husband into working at the office instead of at home and said I would handle it.  I had a secret weapon and we would be fine.  My secret weapon was this “great” idea of making Valentines cards with toilet paper rolls bent into the shape of a heart and dipped in paint and placed on paper.  Easy!  It took me 2 minutes to set them up and then I laid back on the couch which is directly across from the dining room table.  Gabriel was doing a great job at first and was having a blast.  I was busy cutting out their next project and I looked up to see this….

Maybe it wasn’t such a good idea!  Needless to say when he was done, he had a shower and I used my whole 30 minutes allowed of the day cleaning up this mess.  Not exactly my shining mom moment but he sure had fun.  We’ll see how our Cheerio heart shaped bird feeders work tomorrow.  :-)

Do you have a Wordless Wednesday? I’d love to see it!

Ah, but this is what makes you a mom :) We had one of those with a clean smock and a painted face/hands/table. I’m sure your son was thinking you were the coolest mom of all at that moment!
