Invitation to Play: Go Fly a Balloon

Kites are great here in North Dakota because we almost always have some type of wind. However, my kids are too little to handle kites on their own so we decided to “fly” helium balloons. These balloons have been in my house since Abigail was born and came home from the hospital. (If you have none on hand, your local Dollar Tree should have a large collection that you can pick from for just a $1. That’s where one of these balloons came from and it has lasted for almost two months. $1 is a great price for a kite…uh, balloon.)

My two year old promptly “lost” one so the next one I gave him I made sure it was tied to a weight so that when he let go of it we still had our “kite”.

They loved flying their balloons!

For free or for just a $1, they flew their balloons for well over an hour and after nap time wanted to fly them again.
